About Oculo Mundi

I've forgotten now whether I started as a rambler who carried a camera or a hobbyist-photographer who went walking to capture nature...but now the two have blended superbly.

Time allowing you will hardly catch me at home these days...

Painting, drawing and photographing the world around me for more than forty years I only became a 'serious' hobbyist-photographer a few years ago.

I thoroughly enjoyed painting and the carthartic unfolding of a picture in front of me on the canvas, but rightly family and career committments reduced my time at the easel. There was a creative gap in my life though.

Rediscovering my camera allowed me to grab those artistic opportunities back, to capture nature, re-present images that I loved. And why not share them! Even if you don't want to purchase any of the photographs I hope that you will take time to enjoy the views, the animals and plants, and the trees...lots of trees...can you guess: I like trees!

Evening Song: Taken in March 2017 this Thrush was singing its heart out and gave me enough time to frame it within the setting Gibbous Moon. It is a pity I couldn't capture its magical song as well.
