Whether a sweeping landscape, a woodland
vista or a colourful panorama, we hope that the images below capture
the beauty of the natural world and possibly, just possibly, we can
share them with you.

Snowy Trees (#011).
A heavy flurry of snow drew families
to the hills of Rivington for fun and games - but this lonely
stretch of path epitomised the winter blast (January 2016).

Stargazer (#252):
I can still remember the intoxicating fragrance of this Stargazer Lilly that I discovered in the gardens of the National Trust Plas Newdd site (August 2017) on Anglesey. Well worth a visit it is a gorgeous residence on the shores of the Menai Straits.

Early Morning Robin (#206):
The 'Dawn Chorus' rang out for me during
one early morning walk amongst the local woods. None more
energetically calling was this delightful Robin, belting out his
song. Trying to hide, I managed to catch him between the sprouting
spring twigs (February 2014).

Knipefold Shadow (#222):
A mid-afternoon wander around the fields of Hawkshead (Cumbria),
just after a sustained torrent of rain allowed me to capture the
first rays of sun on the fields - illuminating (and warming I'm sure)
the sheep (August 2016).

Castlerigg View (#017):
Even though we've passed the Spring equinox
in the UK, the wintery showers are still all too present. That does mean fantastic cloud scapes - a bit like this from 2013 at Castlerigg, just outside Keswick. The Castlerigg Stone circle was beautiful to behold with a wonderfully atmospheric backdrop!

The Hidden Tower (#245):
The Pigeon Tower at Rivington is a
favourite haunt for photographers: I have many instances of it from
various angles. However, this is one of my favourites: A break in
the trees, with a slight foreground mist, after some heavy snow gave
the Tower a fantastical look - even down to the small, mysterious
figures at its base (January 2016).

Woodland Amber (#150):
Autumn in 2016 was a blaze of reds, oranges
golds - nothing exemplified the quality of the pre-Winter hues than
this picture from Bostal Woods, South London.

Formby Dunes (#053).
A slow sandy trek around the superb Dunes
at Formby Point (near Southport) - Marram grass focusing the eye
towards the
beautiful blue sky
(June 2014).

Bostal Heath Path (#270):
A favourite Sunday morning walk as a child
with the dogs the woodland at Bostal Heath was always an exciting
time. Revisiting it in the late Autumn of 2016 presented some
stunning images.

Dolbadarn Castle - Llanberis (#265):
Striding up to the battlements of the
castle it was easy to imagine it being defended by the Welsh prince,
Llywelyn the Great. A magnificent view, looking down the Llanberis
pass; a glorious day, with heather underfoot, this August day
in 2017 was a great day for the imagination.

Lillies (#264):
This was a simple photograph taken on a
July Summer day in 2017, but still I think a beautiful image of
striking colour on a natural canvas.
Code: CL & PP.

Autumn Path (#262):
The long path into the Preston's southern
Avenham Park is an old Tramway, now held as a nature conservation
area it has a wonderful corridor of trees that in Autumn is majestic
to behold. Here from October 2017 the early sunlight captures the
godlen colours perfectly.

Sky (#019):
I nearly missed this stunning view -
"always look behind you" is one of the first pieces of advice that
photographers should learn. The stretched clouds circle around the
path from which we've climbed (July 2015).

Golden Glade:
(#166)
Have you ever had that moment when you
just turn a corner and the view in
front of you is just stunning: That was the feeling just before I
took this photograph. The woodland on Bostal Heath, South London was
lit up with autumnal sun and stunning especially so late in the year
(November 2016).

Line of Yew:
(#253)
On the approach to the splendid Plas Newdd site there is a line of old Yews. Magnificent trees, that seem almost to have infinite life-spans, their bark has a magical quality in black and white.
(August 2017).

Tree Eclipse:
(#100)
I have to admit that I went hunting for this image. In the previous
few days I'd noticed the rising sun and the gorgeously, expansive
branches and thought: It just needs the right morning sunrise.
Hopefully, I did the natural dawn colours justice (March 2014).

Latterbarrow Views (#160).
Just outside of
Hawkshead, one of the most familiar and prominent hilltops of the
area is Latterbarrow. Looking to all points of the compass finds
breathtaking views - especially during a Windermere Airshow. Many a
climber has placed a convenient stone in the well structured pile -
I've lost count! (August 2013).

The process of making the large-sized
photgraphs into the 'thumbnails' shown here can sometimes make the
image look grainy; the finished print however, will be crystal
clear.
