A pot pourri of imagery

As the name suggests this page brings you a flavour of something different.
Slightly esoteric; a little mysterious; photographs out of the
ordinary. We hope that you enjoy them.

Fairhaven Chiascuro (#082):
The sun was blazing down onto the
textured beach when we walked from Lytham St Annes - the reflection
and the shadows were perfect for the monochrome treatment.
Especially the distant figures paddling (August 2015).

Langdale Village Lines (#241):
The 'pen and ink' effect on this image perfectly outlined the mystical beauty of this little village
in the Langdale valley. We have fond memories of meeting the
newly born lambs and paddling in the river (July 2015).

In No Hurry (#255):
A meandering journey along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal (July 2017).

Dancing Dryad (#206):
The clouds parted during a ramble over a grey Longridge Fell to shine upon this pale barked 'Yggsdrasil', this dancing Dryad shone strongly amongst the woodland - screaming to be snapped (May 2014).

Tomb Gates (#063):
I loved the ethereal nature of the leafy canopy above the tomb:
The broken fencing and the ghostly, if not spiritual, foliage above
gives
a dramatic image.

Grizedale Mirkwood (#037):
Caught early before the sunrise; behind me
the mists weaved their way through these pines - along one of the
popular Grizedale walks. Captured in sepia, the darkness and blurred
lines add to the picture's mystery (November 2015).

Homeward Bound(#254):
I wasn't the only one heading back during this shot in mid-Wales
(August 2017). The Duck's wing beats could be heard well before she
came into sight - long enough for a few snaps, but then off into the
distance.

Hawkshead Hill Sunset (#039):
A beautiful sunset on the crest of the hill just up from the
central Cumbrian village of Hawkshead (July 2014). Although the
crepuscular colours were not unpleasant, I was struck by the
contrasting light (emphasised here) as the sun dipped below the
horizon (conjuring all manner of magical emotions).

Crow Shadow (#127):
Such a dominant silhouette of this highly intelligent bird. I was
lucky to have the wonderful natural diamond frame. One of my
favourite images (October 2014).

Autumnal Leaves at Rydal Mount (#012).
h3 class="auto-style17">With the leaves just turning from their
summer green to an autumn gold (and every colour in between) - this
branch shone like an illuminated stain glass window (August 2015).

Last Gasp of the Fallen Oak (#232)
Standing for a hundred or more years, this
Oak tumbled in the Autumn of 2016. On this early frosty morning the
branches reached for the sky in one last gasp of vitality.

with new images; please return again soon.
The process of making the large-sized
photgraphs into the 'thumbnails' shown here can sometimes make the
image look grainy; the finished print however, will be crystal
clear.
